Writing – the key to English proficiency

SOME EXERCISES EXAMPLES:

SPELLING
Students develop their phonemic awareness and phonological fluency, adding key concepts such as suffixes and prefixes as well as morphology. All the time getting the essential practice for accurate recall.

Grammar – the programs address many concepts including

Convention: a variety of spelling, capitalisation, punctuation, linguistics, modifiers, phrases and verb forms.

Context: including, details, coherence, unity and the presence of supporting ideas.

GRAMMAR
In this exercise we are not explicitly teaching grammar but we do introduce concepts and parts of speech and offer plenty of practice with immediate feedback.

BASIC AND ACADEMIC VOCABULARY
In this exercise we are developing category knowledge, other exercises deal with synonyms, antonyms, homophones and so on.

 

CONSTRUCTING SENTENCES
This exercise develops skills in constructing and organizing fiction and nonfiction passages.

SPELLING – HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS
This exercise uses the top 200 high frequency words including grade level sight words.
REVIEW OF COGNITIVE AND LITERARY SKILLS TRAINING
The exercises train every rule of English grammar. They also develop skills such as working memory, sequencing and processing speed.
